Early Career Teachers (ECTs)

Changes in Teaching School Hub responsibilities

From September 2024 we are no longer able to be the Appropriate Body for ECTs due to DfE changes in Teaching School Hub responsibilities – but we can continue until July 2024 for those ECTs already registered with us.

Schools will need to register any new ECTs directly with a Teaching Hub.

We offer a wealth of experience and expertise in supporting schools to develop ECTs throughout their induction period and fulfil the relevant duties as laid out in the most recent government legislation.

As your designated AB, SIL will ensure compliance with statutory requirements and support schools with their induction responsibilities, including:

  • Advice, guidance, training and high-quality support for induction tutors, mentors and ECTs
  • Administration - registration, assessment and administration of the database and electronic system
  • Helpline - managed by experienced support staff providing induction advice to all school staff involved in the induction process
  • Reporting - to the Teacher Regulation Agency (TRA) at each stage, from registration to completion of the whole induction process

Register your ECTs on ectmanager.com to begin the induction journey with SIL once you have decided on the programme and provider.
