Our Safeguarding team is highly regarded by schools due to its dedication to providing timely and effective guidance, support and training.

 

We are here to provide sound advice to critical incidents at your setting and support you to meet your statutory responsibilities.

 

Our team will help to assist with safeguarding children in Liverpool and schools across Merseyside.

 

You should never delay contacting Children Services and/or Police if you believe a child is at risk or in danger.

However there are times when you might want additional third party advice - in these instances email [email protected] indicating if the matter is urgent or non-urgent.

For urgent matters please provide both a landline and mobile phone number.

Meet the Safeguarding team

The Safeguarding team is highly regarded for its dedication to providing timely and effective guidance around critical incidents, alongside ongoing support and training, enabling you to meet your statutory responsibilities in safeguarding children across Merseyside and beyond.

 

The team collectively has over 50 years education experience and can provide a range of services for schools including tailored whole school safeguarding training, training for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and school leaders and full safeguarding audits. The team are committed to supporting schools to work effectively as part of a Multi-Agency team around the child and family and can signpost and advise schools across a wide spectrum of school safeguarding matters.

Schools' Safeguarding Handbook 2022/23

This handbook has been developed to support school staff, Designated Safeguarding Leads, Headteachers and Governors to meet and exceed their statutory safeguarding requirements. It contains useful advice, guidance and signposting, alongside model policies and templates which can be personalised to your setting and will support and develop your safeguarding practice. 

Establishments who are entitled to the universal offer and those with our SLA can order hard copies for collection from Toxteth Annexe for £30, please email [email protected] to order. If you wish to order in bulk or require postage, please get in touch.

The Safeguarding team deliver a number of sessions throughout the year, including training for those new to the DSL role, refresher DSL training and statutory safer recruitment training for School Leaders and Governors.

Safeguarding Audit/Health Check

 

We offer a comprehensive one day review which focusses on examining the school’s evidence of how it meets the key statutory requirements in Keeping Children Safe in Education and also Ofsted expectations.

SLAs 2024/25

Our Annual Safeguarding Service Agreement offers training, advice, guidance, model policies and practical support to ensure children are kept safe and schools meet their statutory responsibilities.

 

This is available to schools outside of Liverpool local authority and independant schools and other settings that do not receive the Universal Offer.
