This is a two part training course accessed via pe-recorded videos. To maximise effectivity, please access both sessions for your relevant year group. These sessions will refer to statutory requirements and guidance from the national curriculum, the 2022 Ofsted English review and the 2021 Reading Framework for teaching the foundations of literacy.
During the sessions, we will:
• Examine evidence based research and guidance relating to transcription and composition
• Explore strategies to develop accuracy and automaticity in letter formation and handwriting
• Share ideas to ensure impact from the teaching of vocabulary, grammar and punctuation
• Explore effective editing and proofreading
• Help you to prioritise next steps to support progress in writing
• Develop your subject knowledge in writing in order to raise standards swiftly

These videos are free to access for Liverpool Authority primary schools as part of the Universal Offer. All other schools are able to access the videos at a cost of £300 for the full set.
