Mental Health for Schools

Promoting good mental health and wellbeing is fundamental to creating an engaged and motivated school community and active and effective leadership is key. Headteachers carry a huge responsibility and need to ensure they look after their own mental health and wellbeing.

We are developing support for Headteachers and are happy to discuss what we can offer to your school and governors. We can also tailor training to deliver bespoke sessions for staff, students or parents and support schools with workshops to support enrichment days.

Good mental health helps:
  • Children and young people to manage their emotions and build  self-esteem, leading to improved academic attainment, enhanced employment opportunities and positive life choices.
  • Retain and motivate staff, improving performance and job satisfaction, impacting directly on promoting pupil wellbeing and attainment which is vital to a happy and successful school.
  • Develop an inclusive & respectful culture across the whole school community, where everyone feels welcome. This is fundamental in building strong relationships with families.

Our mental health for schools programme is led by Sonia Cross, who is a terrific advocate for the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. She played a major role in the citywide review of mental health across Liverpool and has a wealth of experience leading PSHE and a range of health related projects across all types of schools.

She is an enthusiastic member of the team and relishes the opportunity to promote  good mental health and wellbeing to whole school communities across Liverpool and beyond.
