“Liverpool Dances” research and development initiative

Article dated: 28/02/2024

Dance is alive in Liverpool via a variety of groups and organisations.

This includes the rebirth of Leap dance festival which will happen April-May this year and focus on Liverpool's homegrown talent.

Culture Liverpool is also soon due to announce the successful recipients of the Dance Commission grant made possible with UK Shared Prosperity UK funding - however, due to the closure of the Liverpool dance agency there has been a reduction in dance programming, and opportunities for dance artists and practitioners.

As such a piece of work led by former dancer, choreographer and current senior arts and cultural leader, David Waterson has been commissioned by Culture Liverpool.

“Liverpool Dances” is a research and development initiative to gain more knowledge and understanding of the current picture, where gaps and opportunities lie.

They need to hear from you as an audience member, artist/ practitioner, organisation and group, or student - please share your views at www.liverpooldances.co.uk/

This piece of work will run until 10 March 2024

They appreciate your input as it helps show us where things are at the moment and allows people to contribute their thoughts.
