About the School
St. Julie's Catholic High School is a Notre Dame school and its aim is to put into practice the principles of the school's patron saint St Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame. We are a school where academic excellence is standard and the focus is on the development of the whole child such that we grow confident, independent young women and men and strong partnerships between home and school. St Julie’s is a large voluntary aided Roman Catholic secondary school, predominantly for girls with boys admitted into sixth form. There are 1078 pupils on roll, 174 of whom are in the sixth form.

About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for the school to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Cleaning Assistant at St Julie’s Catholic High School to join our committed Premises Team. You will support the schools Cleaning Supervisor and Facilities Manager in maintaining the site utilising various cleaning equipment. REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE CLEANING ASSISTANTS - Hours of work: 10 hours per week / Term Time only (39 weeks) PLUS 5 DAYS across the year during school holidays - The salary includes five additional days to be worked in the school holidays and 26 days holiday pay. - Monday to Friday: 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm - Salary: Grade 1 (Points 2-3) £12.26 per hour Actual salary £5737

Personal Qualities
Essential:

  •  Competence in carrying out a range of cleaning tasks
  •  Ability to understand, follow and give instruction and communicate clearly to Facilities Team and School
  •  Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team
  •  Ability to work in an organised and methodical manner
  • Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise
  • Appropriate IT skills to fulfil requirements of post
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to Equal Opportunities

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations for example COSHH, manual handling
