About the Role
Essential Requirement:

  • Qualified Teacher status;
  • Teaching degree or equivalent (BA, Bed, PGCE) As a primary school teacher at All Saints you will be expected to work within the Teacher Standards and expectations of the school:
  • Understand the school’s safeguarding procedures and actively promote pupils’ well-being and safety
  • develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with our curriculum objectives.
  • facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with pupils, keeping learning resources organised and creating a positive learning environment in the classroom.
  • develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of all children, according to age, ability and aptitude.
  • assess and record pupils’ progress.
  • link pupils' knowledge to prior learning and develop it further; challenging and inspiring pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.

Responsibilities

  • teaching all areas of the primary curriculum
  • engaging fully in curriculum initiatives such as In Harmony music, service learning projects
  • taking responsibility for the progress of a mixed ability class
  • organising the classroom, learning resources and creating displays to create a positive learning environment
  • planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class including pupils with SEND
  • motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative lessons
  • maintaining discipline and applying School Behaviour policy
  • preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development
  • meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development
  • providing feedback to parents and carers on a pupil's progress at parents' evenings and other meetings as required
  • working with others to plan and coordinate work
  • deploying Learning Support staff and sharing planning to maximise impact on pupils’ learning
  • keeping up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • organising and participating in school events, outings and activities, which may occasionally take place at weekends or in the evening
  • working with parents to encourage their involvement in the school and the development of resources for the school
  • communicating with SENDCO and other professionals to contribute to reports (such as education welfare officers, social workers and educational psychologists), if required.
