100 Christmas tree enterprise project

Christmas tree orders are open!

Article dated: 16/11/2023

It’s that time of year again - orders/sales of Clifford Holyroyde’s annual '100 Christmas tree enterprise project' are now open!

This year they will enter their 6th successful year and are looking forward to the students having some work experience opportunities.

It was a fantastic experience for them all last year and they are aiming for this year to be even more successful. (They are also running the project alongside their Duke of Edinburgh award).

Visits to the sustainable tree farm are taking place on Friday 17 November – so if you would like a tree smaller/ larger than a 6-7ft Nordman fir - these would need ordering no later than 17/11/23.

People can pre-order by emailing [email protected]

Over the last few years Clifford Holyroyde has really cut back the scale of the project and paused their expansion plans due to Covid recovery - but continued with two years of pre-ordered trees – and they thank everyone who ordered one.

Pre-Covid they sold just over 130 trees to the neighbouring community and school communities - which created a real buzz and joy for the students and staff.

Each year, all profits have gone back into student's activities such as rowing.

Over the years students have taken part in the enterprise careers model for 4 weeks in school - which is being expanded this year with the school Duke of Edinburgh group.

Students have designed and organised the printing of leaflets, organised and collected donated goods to decorate  trees and supported the public tree sales by delivering, unloading, selling and leaflet dropping and will be doing the same this year.

These life and work experiences truly are an invaluable opportunity - and school are extremely grateful for the continued support.

This year they are holding two weekends of open sales and collection of pre-ordered trees.

Collection of pre-ordered trees or open sales are 25 & 26 November and 2 & 3 December 10.00 - 14.00.
