Catch Up® Literacy Training for Primary & Secondary Schools

Course Information
This training provides the opportunity for staff who deliver literacy intervention strategies, and the staff who manage such interventions, to receive comprehensive guidance and earn accreditation.

Why attend? 

Catch Up® Literacy is suitable for all struggling readers whose reading age is significantly below that expected for their chronological age. It is designed for use with struggling readers aged 6-14, rather than beginner readers
• It enables struggling readers to achieve more than double the progress of typically developing readers
• Accreditation: Catch Up® training is accredited by the OCN (Open College Network)
• Submitting for accreditation is voluntary and for no additional cost

What will it cover?
• Ways to address literacy and numeracy difficulties that contribute to underachievement
• Form a structured 1-to-1 intervention for learners who find reading difficult

After receiving Catch Up® Literacy, learners:
Became more self-confident and motivated in class
Felt more confident to write independently 
Displayed a much improved attitude towards English and other subjects in the curriculum

Who should attend?
Teachers, Subject Leaders, Support Staff/Teaching Assistants
Staff who deliver literacy intervention strategies and the staff who manage such intervention in primary & secondary schools, SENCOs, intervention managers

Trainer:   Catch Up® Approved Trainer 
 
Schools should nominate staff who will manage the intervention and/or staff who will deliver the intervention to attend the course. They will receive comprehensive guidance by attending all parts of the training:

One free place to teachers from Liverpool LA maintained schools and schools in the funding agreement. 

An administration charge will apply to none attendees
All costs are subject to VAT

One place FREE of charge to teachers from Liverpool LA maintained schools and schools in the funding agreement. For ADDITIONAL delegates and delegates from schools/academies not maintained by Liverpool LA or in the funding agreement the cost is £400 per person. All costs are subject to VAT
