NQTs
Course Information
This six day programme aims to motivate NQTs and will build their capacity to become future leaders of education.
The suite of training addresses the Teachers’ Standards.
- Builds on the themes raised in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and develops these in the context of the NQTs’ current experience
- Benefits from LA links with the North West Higher Education Institutions providing ITT and facilitates links to a variety of further CPD opportunities including M Level study
- Showcases the expertise of the most skilled and experienced classroom practitioners and senior leaders from across Liverpool and beyond
- Provides a unique networking opportunity for NQTs from a wide range of settings to share their experiences and learn from each other

Day 2 7th November 2017 ' Meeting the needs of different learners across Liverpool' Venues are school based.
Delegates will be notified of the venue after day 1 and an agenda will be sent to them in advance
This day will be an opportunity for NQTs to visit 2 different schools, to develop a greater awareness of different learners and contexts across the City, in order to be better able to plan and meet the range of needs in their own classrooms.
The focus for this day will be on:
- EAL
- Pupil Premium
- SEND
- Alternative Provision in Mainstream
- Intervention
- Gifted and Talented
- EYFS
Day 3 1st December 2017 ' Assessment and Inclusive Classroom'
All delegate will attend a 'Supporting ASD learners in mainstream education' presentation and then will split up into groups
KS1 and KS2 will be split into groups and will attend all of the following workshops
- Maths Assessment
- English Assessment
- Approaches to Writing
- Reasoning in Maths
- 2 Sessions on assessment
- Early Writing Development
- Early Numeracy Strategies
Day 4 16th March 2018 ' Making Liverpool links across the national Curriculum'
Venues are Liverpool City Centre based - Waterfront - Museums - Library - Theatre
Delegates will be notified of the starting venue and an agenda will be sent to them in advance
NQTs will be divided into 3 groups
All delegates will come together for lunch and will attended a workshop. The rest of the day will consist of field trips and they will attend workshop at 3 of the possible 6 locations across the town centre

Day 5 18th May 2018 ' Excellence and Enjoyment using ICT'
Advanced notification of the venue and the agenda will be sent to all delegates that have reserved a place on this date.
Delegate will attend an E-safety presentation and will be given the opportunity to choice form 4 of the 6 workshop below:
- ICT in Early Years
- iPads to support Literacy
- iPads and Guided Reading
- Using ICT in Cross-Curricular Learning
- Programming and Coding in the National Curriculum
- Maths, Computers and All That Jazz
Day 6 29th June 2017 ' Creativity'
All delegates will have the opportunity to attend workshops:
- Workshop 1 Dance
- Workshop 2 Music
- Workshop 3 Storytelling
- Workshop 4 Clay making
- Workshop 5 Creative approaches to Maths
Cost:
£175 per delegate per day
An administration charge will apply to none attendees
