Orienteering and Problem Solving on a School Site

Course overview
Delegates will learn how to deliver a comprehensive scheme of work, covering the Outdoor Adventurous Activities section of the Physical Activity National Curriculum.

The course will equip teachers with the skills to deliver problem solving activities through PE. It will enable teachers to encourage effective
communication and cooperation amongst their pupils and prepare teachers with appropriate resources to deliver problem solving activities through PE. It will also introduce map reading and on site orienteering to teachers and develop a range of school site orienteering games.

What will it cover?
• This course will allow schools to develop their skills in the Outdoor Adventurous Activities element of the PE curriculum
• It will cover aspects of the Geography Curriculum including compass points, sketch maps and grid references
