Course Overview
In this session, we will consider ways to improve outcomes for the GCSE exams this summer.
Looking at:
- Utilising all remaining lessons.
- Starters to help fluency and revision.
- Prioritising topics that are most likely to come up.
- Using QLAs from previous assessments (i.e. Mocks).
- Exam techniques to be shared with pupils (annotating diagrams, setting working out correctly etc.).
- A list of websites that can be helpful for teachers and pupils to use
Why attend?
At this network you will have the opportunity to talk to other mathematics leaders and share valuable techniques and resources to improve outcomes in the run up to the GCSE exams.
What wil it cover?
- Look at individual SsoL to see what is left to cover and prioritise the topics that come up more than others and marks that they carry.
- Use of starters in lessons to recap topics and develop fluency.
- How to effectively use QLAs to inform what topics to cover/include on starters or provide information for pupils to what they should be revising.
- Exam techniques to allow pupils to score better on questions, such as annotating diagrams to score marks or setting working out correctly to maximise marks scored.
- Run through useful websites that can be helpful in the lead up to exams.
Any Supplementary Information:
Delegates should bring overviews of schemes of learning.
