By using the Boxall profile as part of the ongoing assess -plan -do -review cycle will ensure the graduated approach is in place and capture the progress of children.
Why attend?
This course will explore the premise that when a child has gaps in their cognitive, social and emotional skills these can often be the root cause of what is considered challenging behaviour. This may include a child presenting as being aggressive, uncooperative or withdrawn. By considering these as being strategies a child may use when they have no other means of communicating that something is not right practitioners can begin to look beyond those behaviours. It is essential to try to understand any social and emotional barriers that may lead to the behaviours. The Boxall Profile enables schools and practitioners to do this . By attending this course practioners will develop their understanding of how the Boxall profile can be used to identify the needs of children with SEMH. Furthermore when those needs are identified, targeted support can be put in place to help children and young people develop necessary skills which will, in turn , lead to improved wellbeing and appropriate behaviour .
