Preparation for HLTA Status

Course Overview

  • The 3 day course prepares Teaching Assistants to present evidence of their current practice and to be assessed against the HLTA standards. Successful completion of this 3 day course will lead to candidates being eligible for assessment to gain the nationally recognised HLTA status.
  • ·The benefit of completing the HLTA course is to improve standards and outcomes for children and schools whilst developing candidates’ confidence to reflect on practice and present evidence ready for assessment. A further ½ day Assessment Visit is payable and arranged by your tutor through HLTA North.


Attendance at all 3 days is essential.

What will it cover?

  • Day 1 – Understanding the HLTA Standards
  • Day 2 – Evidencing standards and written tasks
  • Day 3 – Preparing for assessment


There will be a requirement for candidates to complete and submit tasks during the 10 weeks of the course for them to be put forward for the final assessment

Please note that a further fee of £450 is payable the HLTA North for the final assessment
