Course Overview: 

1stClass@Number 1 trains a teaching assistant and a link teacher to successfully implement an evidence-based maths intervention programme to children in Key Stage 1.

The intervention programme comes ready-made with detailed lesson plans and extensive resources. This course will train a teaching assistant to deliver 30 half-hour sessions to a group of up to four Y2 children who need support to achieve the Y1 expectations.

The lessons focus on number and calculation, developing children’s mathematical understanding, communication and reasoning skills.

A Post Office theme runs throughout, engaging children in real life contexts that are both stimulating and fun. Each topic starts with a simple assessment that helps the teaching assistant to tailor sessions to the children’s needs.

A high quality box of lesson plans, teaching guides and resources are included in the cost of the training and delegates must have them available for all sessions

£650 for 2 delegates (+£10 p&p of resource box) - 1 Teaching Assistant and 1 Link teacher. Delegates must attend all sessions
