Course Overview

Autumn Term:
The role of MFL Subject Lead. This session will look at how to lead MFL effectively in your school. Maybe you are new to role, or looking at ways to raise the profile of MFL and embed it in your curriculum? We will discuss effective leadership of MFL and look at some case studies
 

Spring Term:
Evaluating the effectiveness of MFL provision in preparation for Ofsted. This session will provide a framework and guidance for undertaking a ‘health-check’ of MFL provision in school. There will be a focus on reviewing performance in key aspects of MFL, identifying areas for development and formulating an action plan. Are you Ofsted-ready?
 

Summer Term:
Exploiting stories and poems in Primary MFL. This session will explore how to choose appropriate resources to exploit stories and poems in MFL, with practical ideas for the classroom. The focus will be on looking at how this ‘cross-cutting’ objective on the MFL programmes of study can bring together all four skills of language learning in a way that is engaging and motivating for learners.
