Success@Arithmetic: Calculation

Course Overview

Success@Arithmetic:Calculation trains a lead teacher and a teaching assistant together to successfully implement an evidence-based maths intervention programme to children in Years 5-8. The lead teacher conducts a detailed diagnostic assessment and selects a series of Success@Arithmetic:Calculation steps to create a tailored programme of up to 24 sessions, designed to support children to develop conceptual understanding of the four operations. The teaching assistant uses the detailed lesson plans and a range of resources to deliver the intervention to a group of up to three pupils

• To raise standards and ensure progress – children made an average Number Age gain of 17.5 months in 4.5 months on the programme, almost 4 times the expected progress

Any supplementary info

A high quality box of lesson plans, teaching guides and resources are included in the cost of the training and delegates must have them available for all sessions
