CIEH: Food Safety and Hygiene (Introductory/Level 1)

Course Overview
The CIEH Introductory Certificate in Food Safety is designed for anyone who provides food for others.

The CIEH Introductory Certificate in Food Safety is a great way to introduce beginners to the safe preparation and cooking of food. The course will help practitioners to understand more about the importance of good food preparation. Upon completion of this course you will feel more confident serving safe food to others.

  • Introduces the concept of safe food
  • Foodborne, pest and physical contamination
  • Improves food preparation, handling and storage knowledge
  • Food borne illness and food poisoning
  • Consequences of poor food safety practice


Please note, this session is being delivered as an INSET within schools. We are also able to offer Food Safety and Hygiene Foundation Level 2 training. The candidates will receive CIEH accreditation, a certificate upon completion of the training and a handbook to refer to in school.
