This course is an exciting CPD opportunity for anyone involved in primary music education.
Delegates will:
- Consider updates on national policy directions in primary music education
- Learn how to develop a primary music curriculum that is engaging, inspiring, creative and effective
- Access practical support and ideas to enhance primary music teaching and learning

The programme will focus on:
- the core purpose and generic skills of music subject leaders
- effective strategies to strengthen the delivery of music
- how a school may organise opportunities to play musical instruments, to sing, to listen and to appraise, compose, read and perform music to provide high quality music education as part of a broad balanced curriculum
- effective strategies for planning for progression and assessment in music
- the latest national developments and best practice
- support in the delivery of the National Curriculum for Music
The programme also includes school based support bespoke to individual schools; half-day per school from a lead practitioner during the course of the programme.
In the final session participants are invited to share with fellow participants how the course supports music development in their schools.

The course is for anyone in, or aspiring to, the role of music co-ordinator in the primary phases.
