School Admin / School Business Managers

Working in a school office requires previous experience in this environment due to the systems used, so applicants will be expected to demonstrate experience of using SIMS, and some roles will also require experience of educational finance systems, as well as experience working within a busy school office.

What to expect:
The working hours for admin officer and school business manager roles vary, but you would expect to usually start between 8.00 - 8.30am and finish between 4.30-5.00pm.

Tasks will vary depending on the school and position, but as a basic guide you may be expected to:

  • Support teachers and the School Management Team in data entry and pupil records using the SIMS system

  • Support the busy school office

  • Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries, as well as signing in visitors

  • Act as the first point of contact for parental enquiries

  • Undertake routine financial administration

  • General administration duties


A school business manager may also be expected to line manage various members of support staff.
