National Award for SEN Coordination

Study the DfE’s recommended professional qualification for SENCOs with School Improvement Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.



This 12 month programme prepares aspiring and new SENCos to meet the national learning outcomes that all SENCos must achieve in their first 3 years of being in post.



The programme was developed by our Inclusive Learning team, alongside colleagues from LJMU, ensuring the programme is relevant and accessible. This Masters level qualification awards 60 points of Level 7 study.



It is designed by SENCOs for SENCOs. Assignments are designed to complement your day to day work and with realistic timelines with 6 full day sessions, all in term time. 



Additional twilight sessions can be arranged to meet the needs of the cohort with access to experienced and highly regarded tutors who are approachable and willing to help. This course also provides access University resources and benefits.


Candidates will be required to evidence QTS - and throughout the programme of study students would be expected to be prepared to study at Level 7.
