School Food | Cooking, Nutrition & Safety

Our talented team of School Food Advisors have been working in the classroom actively cooking alongside children for over 10 years and offer a range of services based around food, nutrition,  cooking and health & safety accreditations.

Our School Food Advisors are graduates in Food and Nutrition and their programmes develop extensive practical skills and nutritional knowledge while instilling a love of cooking.

''The children’s food technology skills have improved because of the progression of skills planned throughout each year group and the children really look forward to the sessions. I would say it is one of the best services we have bought in''.

CIEH Food Safety training

Wherever food is served, it is important to demonstrate the highest standards of food preparation, handling, storage and serving. CIEH Food Safety training is currently available at either Introductory/Level 1 or Foundation/Level 2 and is suitable for catering managers, catering staff, lunchtime supervisors, teachers, teaching assistants and anyone else within your school setting who works around food.

All candidates will receive a certificate upon completion of the course as well as full CIEH accreditation in the subject. You will also receive a set of in-depth training materials, including a handbook to use in your setting.

Training can be delivered onsite to groups of staff. Use the links above or  email [email protected] for more information or to book suitable dates.

CIEH Food Allergen Awareness training

Section 100 of the Children and Families Act 2014 states that 'schools have a duty to support pupils at their school with medical conditions.' You should make sure that you support pupils with any medical conditions in school. This could include ensuring that a child with an allergy is able to eat a school lunch.

Food that might be perfectly safe for one person to eat might also be harmful to another, therefore it is vitally important that everyone responsible for preparing or handling food is fully aware of what could trigger an allergic reaction, and understands the precautions that need to be taken.

Upon completion of this training, all candidates will receive a certificate as well as full CIEH accreditation in the subject. You will also receive a set of in-depth training materials, including a handbook to use in your setting.

This course is delivered onsite, click here or email [email protected] for more information
